After her retirement from Youth Center in 1988, Celia became a volunteer at Prudence Crandall grammar school where she helped in the library. She loved talking to people, and never had a problem voicing her opinion. Over the last three years while living at Parkway Pavilion, she was proud to serve as the Vice President of their Resident Council. Celia came to love the residents and staff at Parkway, they became an important part of her family. Her daughters would especially like to thank her nurses Becky and Devon, her aide and friend Sandy, whom she said she loved every day, as well as the many staff members who went out of their way to make her always feel special. Thank you to the amazing recreation department staff, Cheryl, Patty, Sue, and especially Diane, who would dance with mom to the Tennessee Waltz every time they had music. A special thank you to the Masonicare staff, for their love and support to Celia and her family over the past few months. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Parkway Pavilion Recreation Fund, 1157 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082.
