Obituary for Paul J. Clifford, Sr.

Paul  J.   Clifford, Sr.
Paul J. Clifford, Sr. of Enfield, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield on Sunday Nov.19, 2017. He was born in Worcester, MA to the late Philip and Mary (Albro) Clifford. Besides his parents he is also predeceased by his brothers; Philip, Bernard and John “Jack” Clifford, his wife Irene (Wysocki) Clifford, a grandson Tyler Lawrence and a stepson Kenneth Hoke. Paul is survived by his four children; Paul Clifford, Jr. of Webster, MA, Mark Clifford & his wife Patricia of Holyoke, MA, Nancy Lawrence her husband Ronald of Brooklyn, NY, and Denise Dunn of Webster, MA. His several stepchildren Kevin, Keith, Kurt Hoke, Kathy Dudek, Kim Davis, Karolyn Hoke and Kristine Schmitz, 18 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His brother Terrence Clifford, sisters; Katherine “Taffy” Fleming and Susan Fields, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He graduated from St. John’s H.S. in 1951 and then joined the U.S. Air Force retiring in 1973. As Master Sergeant. He then spent 23 years working for the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1996. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, spending time with family and tinkering with anything mechanical. He was a life time member of the American Motorcycle Assoc., and a founding member of the CT River Valley BMW Riders Assoc.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday Nov. 26, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday Nov. 27. 2017 with the procession forming at 8:30 am to St. Adalbert Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am. Interment will follow with Military Honors in the Mass Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
