Helen Louise (Galvin) Stuart
Helen Stuart, 85, of Enfield passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 21, 2017.
She was born and raised in East Hartford and graduated from East Hartford High School before moving to Enfield in 1957, where she lived the rest of her life.
Helen was pre-deceased by her siblings Martin Galvin, Thomas Galvin, Gertrude McCann, and Elizabeth Cyr, and her cherished grandson, Adam Stuart Liebman.
She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 66 years, Ivan E. Stuart and her sister, Marie Baba.
Helen leaves her five loving children Marie Liebman (Leon), Joanne Briody (Charles), Eileen Kenny (Michael), James Stuart, Paul Stuart (Jill), and daughter in-law Jean Cote. Her beloved grandchildren; Spencer Liebman; Patrick (Leah), Alyson, Christopher, David Briody; Daniel and Maura Kenny; Nolan, Hunter, Galvin, and Libby Stuart. She also leaves many special nieces and nephews.
Helen’s life revolved around her family, she nurtured her 5 children and 12 grandchildren with much love and care. Helen was kind, smart, funny, strong and independent. She was an avid reader and had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, and spending time at the seashore with family. A private person, Helen was proud of her Irish heritage and deep Catholic faith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 25, 2017 at 10:00 am in St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Road, Enfield, Connecticut. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the St. Martha School.
