Obituary for Joseph W. Seibert

Joseph W. Seibert
Joseph Walter Seibert passed away Friday February 9th, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones at Hartford Hospital at the age of 53 after multiple battles with cancer. He was raised in South Salem, NY, and moved to Somers, CT as a teenager. Joseph owned his own trucking business for over 25 years, and often times worked over a100 hours a week as the sole earner of the household but still had time for his kids on the weekend. His children could often be heard telling others how they became the man they are today because of him. Joseph was a religious man who attended church every week and sent whatever money he could to the poor children in Africa. He had a laugh that could be heard two doors down, and when he sang everyone stopped to listen. He had an enormous heart that had enough room for everyone. Joseph was the perfect model of selflessness, and never stopped giving of himself even on his death bed. His legacy will be carried on by the countless lives he touched by being a listening ear, a caring voice, and a shoulder to cry on. His life’s work was his children, and anyone who knows his sons knew his efforts were not in vain. R.I.P. Joseph, there are more people crying and praying for you then you would ever know. He is survived by his wife MaryKay of 31 years, and his two sons Eric and Mark. Also surviving are his parents Walter and Gesuina, and his sister Terry Carifa and her husband Patrick Carifa, along with various nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours are Thursday February 15th from 5-8 P.M. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday February 16th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Bernard Church, Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of family. The family has requested contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
