Barbara B. "Barb"  Provencher (Bourgeoise)
Barbara (Bourgeoise) Provencher, 80, of Enfield passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at Parkway Pavilion after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Timothy Provencher for 53 years. Born in Thompsonville, CT, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Marion (Kennedy) Bourgeoise. She graduated from Enfield High School in 1955. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the State Teachers’ Retirement Board in Hartford. She also worked several years at J.C. Penney and Porcello’s Garage. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She loved reading mystery books, watching UConn basketball, trips to Hampton Beach and New York City, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Timothy J. Provencher Jr. and his wife Adreanna of Woodland Hills, CA, and her daughters; Donna Wehr and her husband Peter of Ellington, Sandra Jordan and her husband Mark of Enfield, Kerry Sweetman and her husband Tim of Enfield, and Beth Margolius and her husband David of West Hartford; and her eight grandchildren Justin, Parker and Jack Provencher, Robert Wehr, Emily and Mollie Sweetman, and Benjamin and Joshua Margolius. She leaves her sister Linda Riley and was predeceased by her sister Nancy Porcello and brother-in-law Matthew.
She is also survived by her in-laws Erline Provencher, Belinda Gaines, Marlene Marek, Theodore Provencher (Nancy), Jean Bassett (Robert), Jeris Griffin (John), John “Jack” Provencher (Geraldine), Glenn Provencher, Deborah Sidway (Michael), Gary Provencher (Katherine) and James Provencher (Debra), She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. She was also predeceased by her in-laws, Edward Provencher Jr., Richard Provencher, William Gaines, Raymond Marek and Robyn Provencher.
Her family would like to thank Parkway Pavilion and DaVita for Barbara’s excellent care. Calling hours for relative and friends are Tuesday March 13th from 4-7pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wed. March 14, 2018 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
