Obituary for William C. Machabee

William C.  Machabee
William C. Machabee, 88, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Ctr., Hartford. William was the beloved husband of 43 years to the late Maria T. (Holl) Machabee and son of the late Frank and Hazel (Drown) Machabee. He was born on January 16, 1930 in Malone, NY and resided in Enfield for the past 59 years. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy Class of 1949, Malone, NY, he then furthered his education and was a 1951 graduate of Albany Business College, as well as a 1957 graduate of Bryant University where he received his Finance Degree. William served his country proudly with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement in 1993 he was employed with Combustion Engineering, Windsor for 31 years, a short time with Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Bloomfield after retirement, and continued to work seasonally for H&R Block, East Windsor until 2010. William was a member & Past Commander of Post 277 American Legion, Indian Orchard, MA, 4-H Club in 1943 and parishioner of St. Bernard Church. In his leisure time William enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling social events and giving back to the community, he was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball and NY Yankee’s fan. He loved spending quality time with his family.
William is survived by his loving daughter Andrea Machabee Ouellette of Enfield, his beloved grandchildren: Nina Damiata & husband Chris of Coventry, Tamara Ouellette of Enfield, Ashlie Aviles & husband Cedric of Enfield and Jessica Ouellette of Enfield, his cherished great grandchildren: Davon Randolph of Enfield, Landon, Chase, Olivia and Vienna Damiata of Coventry, Anthony Durant of Enfield and Maddox and Wrenna Aviles of Enfield. He is also survived by his brother James Machabee & wife Bernice of Dayton, OH and a sister-in-law Brenda Machabee of Malone, NY, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and wife, Maria, he was predeceased by a brother Francis Machabee and a sister& brother-in-law Margaret and Frank O’Connor.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT. Burial with Military Honors will take place in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers and in honor of William Machabee the family has request memorial donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans, dav.org.
