Joan (DiStefano) Bisson, 80, of East Windsor entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. She was the wife of 59 years to Donald R. Bisson. Joan was born on Nov. 11, 1937, to the late Nicholas and Jeanette (Verrastro) DiStefano. She was a graduate of Lodi H.S. and had resided in East Windsor for the past 14 years and in Windsor for 40 years.
In her leisure time she enjoyed reading mystery novels, sewing, word puzzles, cooking, baking and spending time with her dog “Abby”.
In addition to her husband Donald, Joan is survived by her four children; Ron Bisson & wife Nancy of Newington, Bill Bisson & wife Jean of Windsor, Tom Bisson of Stafford Springs, and Donna Bisson & significant other Jeff Dorman of Enfield, her beloved grandchildren; Steven, Jeffrey, Taylor and Sam Bisson, cherished great grandchild; Grayson Swain, her sister Diana DiStefano from Chicago, her little dog “Abby”, along with many nieces. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by a son Richard Bisson, a sister, Antoinette Layton and a brother, Joseph DiStefano.
Joan’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday Aug. 18, 2018 from 11:00 to 1:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 2451 Crystal Dr., Ste. 900 Arlington, VA 22202.
