Obituary for Clara FitzGibbon (Gioielli)

Clara  FitzGibbon (Gioielli)
Clara (Gioielli) FitzGibbon, of Enfield entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 94 on Friday (April 1, 2011) at Redstone Nursing & Rehab Center in East Longmeadow, MA. Clara was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Robert FitzGibbon and a daughter of the late Charles and Philomena (Farr) Gioielli. She was born on Nov.14, 1916 in Middletown, CT and a graduate of East Hartford High School Class of 1935. Clara had resided in Enfield for over 65 years. A loving wife, mother grand and great-grandmother she treasured time spent with her family and they will cherish the many fond memories of her. Clara’s main goal in life was to care for her home and family.
She was the loving mother to: Roberta Ladd and her husband, Charles, Virginia Higley and her husband, Robert, Kathleen Robitaille and her husband Richard and Patricia FitzGibbon all of Enfield, grandmother to four beloved grandchildren, great grandmother to three loving great-grandchildren, sister to Harry Gioielli (Marilyn) of FL and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight siblings.
Clara’s family would especially like to thank the Dr’s and Staff at Redstone Nursing and Rehab and the Care Alternatives Hospice Program for their support, compassion, loving care and attention given to them and their Mom.
Funeral services for Clara will be held on Wednesday (April 6, 2011) with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Patrick Church (Corner of High & Pearl Streets) in the Thompsonville Section of Enfield, CT. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery. There are no Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
