Obituary for JOHN F MAYS

John Mays, of Stafford, passed from his earthly journey at the age of 59, on Thursday Nov. 5, 2015 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs. He was born on Aug. 21, 1956 in Springfield, MA, the son of the late Frederick T. and Betty J. (Russell) Mays. He was a graduate of Enfield H.S. John had resided in Stafford for the past 20 years and in Enfield before that. Prior to retiring in 2012 he was employed with the Town of Enfield for 22 years.
In his leisure time John enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, vacationing in Outer Bank, NC and spending time with his dogs “Lolly & Barbie”.
John is survived by his companion of 12 years Deborah Garrow and her son Jacob, his sister Bonnie Woodland & her husband Jim of Mansfield, his brother Thomas Mays of Enfield, his nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Saturday Nov. 14, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the CT Humane Society 701 Russell Rd. Newington, CT 06111.
