Obituary for Veronica H. McCluskey

Veronica H. Hayden McCluskey, 84 of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Thurs. Sept. 6, 2007 surrounded by loved ones at her home. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late John E. McCluskey. Veronica was born on March 21, 1923 in NYC, NY the only child of the late Joseph and Doris Hayden. She had resided in Enfield for the past 15 years and prior to that in Little Neck, NY for 40 years. Born and raised in Manhattan she attended local schools and was a graduate of St. Nicholas of Tolentine and attended Queens College having graduated Cum Laude. Prior to her retirement Veronica was employed by the Bigelow Commons Rental Office, Thompsonville section of Enfield for 5 years and before moving to Connecticut was employed as a Property Manager in New Rochelle, NY for 18 years. She was an award winning artist and a member of the Women's Club of Enfield. Veronica had a great spirit, always smiling, loved to laugh, had a positive attitude, one who always looked at the brighter side of things, great listener and offer great wisdom & advise to all, a people person of all ages. Veronica is survived by her two loving daughters; Geraldine McCluskey Moran & her husband, Jack of Plandome, NY and Veronica "Ronnie” M. McCluskey & her companion, Gerald "Jerry” Sheehan of Enfield along with her three beloved grandchildren; Seamus P Moran, Erin M. Moran and Kevin P. Moran. She was predeceased by a daughter Dorris King. Her family will receive friends during calling hours on Sun. Sept. 9 from 3 to 7 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Funeral services in celebration of Veronica's life will be held on Monday Sept. 10, 2007 at 9 am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Patrick's Church, Enfield. Interment will take place in St. Raymond's Cemetery Bronx, NY on Tuesday Sept. 11, 2007 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Home & Community Health Services, Inc. Hospice Program P.O. Box 1199 Enfield, CT 06083-1199.
