William “Bill” M. McConnell, 79, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Rest, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Marie G. (Gagliardi) McConnell. Born on November 3, 1938 in North Adams, MA to the late Adelor and Grace (Tiberge) McConnell and had resided in Enfield for the past 51 years. Bill proudly served our country with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1958 to 1962. Bill was employed with Travelers and retired from Citi Group after 38 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Longmeadow, MA and active with the Enfield Senior Center, where he taught computer classes.
In addition to his wife Marie, he is also survived by his loving daughter Diana LeMay & son-in-law Brian of Enfield, his brother Michael McConnell & wife Mary of Clarksburg, MA, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and cousins.
Bill’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 519 Longmeadow St. Longmeadow, MA. (Please meet at Church). Interment with military honors will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the Little Sister’s of the Poor 1365 Enfield Street Enfield, CT 06082 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
