Therese M.  McCuen (Gagnon)
Therese M. (Gagnon) McCuen, of Enfield, entered into eternal life at the age of 85, on Monday (May 19, 2014) surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Joseph E. McCuen, Jr., having celebrated 54 years of marriage on April 30. Therese was born on December 22, 1928 in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Thomas and Rita (Landry) Gagnon. She had resided in Enfield for the past 50 years and in East Hartford before that.
A devoted & loving wife, mother and grandmother Therese dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She was a parishioner of St. Martha Church where she was the former coordinator for the CCD program and also at Sacred Heart Church in Suffield. In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking and reading, but her greatest joy was spending time with family.
Along with her husband Joseph, Therese is also survived by her children; Joseph E. McCuen, III &wife Nancy of Enfield, Thomas J. McCuen & wife Kristen of Stafford Springs and Louise M. Chase & husband Kurt of CA, her cherished grandchildren; Crystal, Justin & Zachary Chase, Joshua, Shane & Ryan McCuen and Joshua and Andrea Viens, great grandchildren; Adrianna, Elijah, Jessie, Ashley Xavier & Kadin. Therese also leaves behind a brother Thomas Gagnon & wife Gertrude of Middletown, along with many nieces & nephews.
Therese was predeceased by a son Andrew B. McCuen in 1998, three brothers and two sisters.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Friday (May 23, 2014) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (May 24) with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Martha Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donation in her memory may be made to the Home & Community Health Services Hospice Program, P.O. Box 1199, Enfield, CT 06083-1199.
