Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of David Nicoll can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for David J. "Dave" Nicoll

David  J.  "Dave"  Nicoll
David “Dave” J. Nicoll, 68, of Enfield, passed from his earthly journey on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018 after a brief illness at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Ctr., Hartford. He was the beloved husband of 36 years to Patricia (Daubitz) Nicoll. Born on June 5, 1950 in Lawrence, MA to the late John F. and Louise (Crossley) Nicoll. Dave was a graduate of Lunenburg H.S. Class of ‘68 Lunenburg, MA., he then continued his education and was a graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 1971, then received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from UMass, Amherst in 1978. After graduating MA Maritime Academy Dave worked on a commercial vessel towing oil rigs and served on the USS Knorr, a Woods Hole research vessel. He started his career at Hamilton Standard/Sundstrand where he worked on projects for the NASA Space Shuttle and International Space Station. He was a certified quality engineer. Dave was an active member of the Rockville Fish & Game Club.
In addition to his wife Pat, Dave is also survived by his two children; Jeffrey Nicoll and Annalisa Nicoll, his two brothers, Douglas Nicoll & wife Joy and Dana Nicoll & wife Gwen Mitchell, a brother-in-law, Richard Daubitz, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends may gather with Dave’s family on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
