Obituary for Genevieve J. Piorek

Genevieve "Gen” J. (Karalis) Piorek, 86 of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life on Thursday December 21, 2006 at Parkway Pavilion, Enfield. Gen was the widow of Alexander J. Piorek, Sr. She was born on April 8, 1920 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield a daughter of the late George and Mary (Baranaski) Karalis and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. Prior to her retirement Gen was employed with Hallmark Cards for 32 years and was a member of the Hallmark 25 year Club and Retirement Club. Gen was a lifelong member of St. Adalbert's Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling and knitting but most of all she loved time spent with her family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gen leaves to cherish fond memories her son and daughter in law; Alexander J., Jr. and Carrol Piorek of Enfield, her beloved granddaughter; Erin Schofield & her husband Asher of Warren, RI and their daughter, Flavia, her grandson; Jason Piorek & his wife, Megan of Enfield and their children, Bayleigh & Spencer, her sister; Theresa Karalis, her special Goddaughter and close family member, Mary Sullivan and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services in celebration of Gen's life will be held on Wednesday Dec. 27, 2006 at 9:00am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Adalbert's Church, Enfield. Interment will take place in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Enfield. Gen's family will receive friends on Tuesday Dec. 26 from 3 to 7pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels.
