Obituary for Nancy M. Sweeton (Munroe)
Nancy M. (Munroe) Sweeton, 76, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2015) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury, CT. She was the widow of William W. Sweeton.
Nancy was born on July 15, 1938 in Nashua, NH, the daughter of the late James C. and Beatrice E. (Smith) Munroe Blaney and step-daughter of the late John Blaney. Nancy had resided in Enfield for the past 50 years. Prior to retiring in Oct. 2003, Nancy was employed for 25 years with Finast Whse, then other jobs for 20 years (Alvin & Co. and G. Fox, etc.). She was a retired Teamster member Local 559, in her leisure time she enjoyed reading.
Nancy is survived by her two children; Kevin Smith & wife Katherine of Enfield and Robyn Scully & husband Bill of Enfield, her 5 beloved grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Robert Munroe of Austin, TX, and an aunt Martha Smith of Nashua, NH, along with many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a son Stephen P. Smith in 1993 and a sister Ruthann Manghan.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family on Monday (Jan. 26, 2015) from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service following with Pastor Michael Coons officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Interment will take place in Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT. at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Enfield EMS, 1296 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082.
