Obituary for Marlene Schneider (Messiek)

Marlene  Schneider (Messiek)
Marlene (Messick) Schneider, of Enfield entered into eternal rest at the age of 89 on Friday March 18, 2011 at Chestnut Point Care Center, East Windsor. She was the widow of Raymond Schneider of Enfield. Marlene was born on Oct. 14, 1920 in Morres, NY and resided in Enfield for many years. She had been employed as a Nurses Aide at the Parkway Pavilion Nursing Home in Enfield back in the 1970’s. In her leisure time Marlene enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. She loved all animals and birds, especially those found in wildlife.
Marlene is survived by the children she raised for many years; Colleen Schneider Mercier of Enfield, Roxanne Schneider Bocwinski and husband Christopher of Enfield and Kimberlee Schneider Koistinen and husband Robert of Suffield, and was the loved and admired grandmother of Shannon Myers and husband Daniel and their children Alexis & Cooper, Brandon Mercier, Katie Koistinen, Mike Koistinen, Kristy Koistinen and Samantha Bocwinski.
Marlene is also survived by her children; Anthony Demusis, Jr., East Longmeadow, MA., David Demusis, Barbara Konstantopoulos and Beverly Smith all of Springfield, MA., 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, two sisters; Ethel Griffin of East Longmeadow, MA and Dorothy Purrington of FL, a very special niece, Nancy Hebert of Springfield, MA along with many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved son Robert Demusis, her parents Leadore and Agnes (LaValley) Messick and eleven siblings.
A Graveside Service in the Enfield Street Cemetery, Enfield will be held at a later date in April to be announced. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield is assisting Marlene’s family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to White Memorial Conservation Center
