Maria L. Brown, 59, of Broad Brook and formerly of Enfield, passed from this life on Tues. Oct. 9, 2007 at her home while fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Maria was the beloved wife of 40 years to Gene Brown.
She was born on May 19, 1948 in Hartford, CT, a daughter of the late Carlo and Donnleen (Boughton) DeSantis, she had resided in Broad Brook for the past 3 years and in Enfield for 33 years. She was a graduate of South Windsor High School. She was formerly employed over the years by Hallmark Cards, Blair Manor Healthcare and Dunkin Donuts. Maria loved time spent with family especially the grandchildren who were the joy of her live. Besides her beloved husband, Gene, Maria is survived by a daughter, Catherine and her husband, Gary Ouellette, a son, James J. Brown and his companion, Danielle Bourque, a daughter Lisa A. Brown and her companion, Michael Ellis, Sr. all of Enfield, her six beloved grandchildren, Amy & Chantal Ouellette, Nicholas & Andrew Brown, Michael Ellis, Jr. & Reese Renee Ellis. She is also survived by a sister, Robin Ferraro of Bristol, a sister, Rosemary Miclette of Glastonbury, a brother, Joseph Fargnoli of E. Hartford, and a sister, Neomi Schaffer, along with many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday Oct. 12, 2007 at 7:00pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Maria's family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of her family.
