Obituary for Maureen G. O'Connor

Maureen G. O'Connor 76 entered into eternal life on Saturday March 15, 2008 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford. Maureen was born in Holyoke MA March 22, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel (Hickey) Garrity. She was an Enfield resident for fifty one years. Maureen was a Registered Nurse and was formerly employed by The Little Sisters of the Poor at St. Josephs Residence in Enfield and later employed by Specialty Retailing also in Enfield. She was a member of St. Bernard's Church and a former volunteer at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Maureen was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph E. O'Connor Sr. in 1985. She is survived by her loving family a son Joseph E. O'Connor Jr., a daughter and son in-law JoAnn and Larry Hickman of Paris Texas. Maureen also leaves her grandson Sean Hickman and granddaughter Shannon Hickman. She is also survived by her sister Joan Garrity of E. Harwich MA., and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Garrity. Funeral services in celebration of Maureen's life will be held on Wednesday at 10:00AM from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Bernard's Church Hazardville Section of Enfield. Maureen's family will receive relatives and friends at Browne Chapels on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
