Obituary for Robert J. "Bob" Pagnam

Robert J. "Bob” Pagnam 85, of Enfield entered into the eternal life of God's infinite mercy to be reunited with his beloved wife Maureen on Friday December 8th 2006. Bob was born in Ireland September 14, 1921 the son of the late Thomas and Marie Pagnam. Bob came to the United States as a young man and enlisted into the United States Army. Bob served his country honorably in WWII. He was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections for twenty eight years and retired as Captain in 1982. He was later employed by Hallmark Cards in the Security Department. He was a proud member of the Washington Irving Council #50 Knights of Columbus Enfield, a member the Rev.William P. Kilcoyn Assemble 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, a former member of the 4th Degree Color Guard, He was a founding member of the Claddagh Club of Enfield, a former member of the John Boyle O'Reilly Club Springfield MA., and former member of the Irish Social Club Glastonbury, CT. Bob was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Martha's Church of Enfield. Bob was very proud of his Irish heritage, a man with a big heart who was loved by all for his keen wit, and sincere friendship, a man of integrity and honesty, strong convictions of what was right and what was wrong. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Maureen (D'Arcy) Pagnam in 1998. He is survived by a son, Sean T. and Judy Pagnam of Feeding Hills MA., his grandchildren, Sarah and David Prussman, and Thomas Pagnam. He leaves his brother, Frank Pagnam and sister, Anne Pagnam both in Ireland, and several nieces and nephews, also survived by brothers and sisters in-law, Willie and Kitty D'Arcy in Ireland, Edward D'Arcy of Worchester MA., and Dud and Maureen D'Arcy of Quincy MA., Bob was predeceased by his brother in-laws, Michael and Andrew D'Arcy and sister in-law, Peg Casey. Funeral services in celebration of Bob's life will be held on Wednesday December 13th, at 9:00AM from BROWNE MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPELS 43 Shaker RD. Enfield CT (Exit 48 off RT 91 RT 220 East 1 & ¼ miles) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield CT. Interment will be with military honors in Hazardville Cemetery, Calling Hours are Tuesday at BROWNE CHAPELS from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
