Sophie (Typrowicz) Kucejko, 83, of Enfield went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 2, 2006. Sophie was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Alphonse E. "Stan” Kucejko who passed Jan. 4, 2005. She was born on Oct. 30, 1922 in Enfield, CT, daughter of the late Stanislaw and Katarzyna (Oliszewska) Typrowicz. Sophie was a graduate of Enfield High School and was a lifelong resident of the Enfield community. Prior to her retirement Sophie was employed with Hallmark Cards for 19 years. In her leisure time she enjoyed, cooking sewing and caring for her family. Sophie's hands were always busy creating treasures for herself and others. She was Past President of the John Maciolek Post 154 American Legion's Women's Auxiliary, a member of Hallmark Retiree's Club and St. Adalbert's Church. She was devoted wife, mother, and loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Sophie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Richard & Arlene Kucejko of Troy, Mich., a daughter; Donna Hartman of Enfield, 4 grandchildren; Cari Kucejko, Jill Cummins, Timothy Kucejko and Jennifer Hartman, 2 great granddaughters; Lauren Kingston and Katelyn Cummins and two sisters; Viola Guzowski of FL and Helen Guzowski of Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday March 7, 2006 at 11:00am in St. Adalbert's Church. Interment will follow in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Enfield. Sophie's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday March 6, from 4 to 7pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield.
